Project Description
Kognitos is an AI startup that specializes in deterministic, hallucination-free AI for the enterprise. Their focus is on automating arduious and manual business processes to be simple, repeatable, and scalable across functions such as healthcare, finance, and more.

My Role
As a designer in a team of two, my roles involved brand development and execution, assiting in multiple facets of product, marketing, and branding. Working under the lead designer, I developed brand aligned assets across digital and print, including: motion graphics & video, slide decks, illustration assets, banners and booths, full podcast asset creation and editing, and a revamped website design.

Color & Typography

Yellow represents the humanity in Kognitos’ product, serving to empower humans. Yellow also illustrates the concept of cognition, the high energy evoking that of neurons firing or an idea coming to life.

It also serves to differentiate from the market. A market saturated in cold blues.

The typographic system centers on using supprting display and body typefaces, with a similar width and x-height to the wordmark, representing harmonious interaction between machine and man, ease of use and access, and geometric precision.

Figma Weave Illustration System

These hand-crafted illustrations were later used to develop a custom Figma Weave illustration system, training an AI image model on Kognitos’ specific brand illustration style. This sped up production times for monthly requirements, while maintaining consistent treatment of illustrations.

Motion

The motion system draws from the logo’s conception of mechanical fluidity.

Kognitos can be a complicated product for first-time users, therefore the animation takes a simplified approach to functions, processes, and outcomes of the Kognitos product.

By carrying over forms and nesting aspects across moments, the scaling architecture of [Skills > Agents > Apps > Business Outcomes] is made understandable and accessible for users.

Web

Web is where identity, illustration, and motion all connect to deliver a consistent experience.

Heavily involved in Front-End Web Design & Develpoment, I led a transition from traditional web design Figma -> Handoff workflows to implementing and redesigning the entire website and design workflows from Figma -> Cursor -> Vercel Deployment.

This transition cut the need for development handoff, and afforded the design team direct control in the implementation of Kognitos design principles and vision, as well as opening marketing operations to directly implement SEO & AEO without the need of a developer.

Milestones and achievements for this redesign included 60% increases in conversion rates, injection of the Kognitos design system into the repo to allow non-designers to create new pages concsistently on brand, and successful implementation of a global light/dark mode toggle.
