CarbonLeap is a branding and web/product design project developed in collaboration with a sustainability-focused startup. Positing next-generation farm intelligence, CarbonLeap enables farmers to fuse and analyze internal and external data to improve the quality and quality of their crops in a climate-responsible manner.
My Role
My role centered on working with the Co-Designer to help shape a clear visual identity and designing a cohesive product system that communicates the brand’s values in an approachable, accessible way. Focusing on the product design, I built an adaptable interface for users to view their emission data and goals/initiatives, subtly changing with an organizations progress in achieving sustainable goals.
Working with the Co-Designer and the startup in its infancy, the focus was on designing a system flexible enough to support future growth, while remaining clear and grounded in the company’s environmental mission.
The visual system combines structured layouts with organic references, using color, shape, and hierarchy to suggest both data intelligence and natural processes. The logo and supporting elements were designed to scale across digital platforms, presentations, and future brand touchpoints.
Typography and color choices were guided by legibility and restraint, allowing information to remain central while reinforcing a sense of credibility and clarity.
This approach frames the website as an entry point into the brand, supporting consistency and adaptability as the product and company grow.
As CarbonLeap is a goals focused, initiative driven product, the standard charts and graphs would change depending on an organizations goals and progress. To reflect this focus across the product, the UI interactions, nav, and buttons were designed to mirror an organizations progress, subtly changing in motion in an abstracted view of their actual data.
